John Durant Music

I’m originally from western New York, but my wife and I decided to move to Nashville Tennessee to start a new chapter in our lives about 17 years ago. I’m a multi-genre multi-instrumentalist who intended to write and pitch country music, but my heart led me to continue composing and producing blues, jazz, symphonic, electronic, rock, and popular music. I believe my diversity is my strength, especially when pitching for sync licensing opportunities.

Although Nashville is known as a country music center, I quickly became acquainted with music industry professionals who were also very diverse in their music interests. I co-wrote and co-produced an independent single called “Livin The Life” with Canadian artist Dale Goodie and producer Robert Miskey which was released in Canada. I also collaborated with several songwriters, artists, and composers, and pitched songs in multiple genres. One of those collaborations was with award winning songwriter Jimmy Borja who has had multiple hits in the Philippines. I’m still open to collaborations, but now find myself working more as a solo composer and artist. 

I’ve recently made some significant improvements in my studio which will help me keep pace with industry standards, and have worked very hard to improve all aspects of my songwriting, performance, and production. I plan to upload some current music to showcase some of my most recent efforts.
